Job Description
Valley Solar LLC is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead brand and demand generation efforts. The role involves developing marketing strategies, managing content, optimizing SEO, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have 6-10 years of marketing leadership experience, particularly in growth-stage companies. This full-time position is based in Easthampton, MA, and offers a competitive salary and benefits.
Valley Solar is looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Marketing to lead and scale our brand, content, and demand generation programs—while helping us bring key products like our SunAlert monitoring subscriptions, customer portal, redesigned website, and AI-driven CX to market.
You will be part of a Lean Ops Team that brings together Marketing, Product, Design, and Development as one high-impact, cross-functional unit. We work collaboratively to build and deliver customer-centric experiences—fast. This role sits within a flat, agile structure where every team member is empowered to lead, execute, and innovate using modern tools and AI-driven workflows.
About the Role - As Director of Marketing, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our customer journey, optimizing our digital presence, growing awareness across local and regional markets, and building a GTM framework to expand into new markets.
Responsibilities:
• Integrated Marketing Strategy: Build and execute 6–12 month growth plans aligned to company OKRs across digital, brand, content, and paid channels.
• Brand & Content Leadership: Shape our brand voice and storytelling across web, social, email, and print. Manage content calendars, campaigns, and creative assets.
• SEO & Local Visibility: Lead tactical SEO strategy focused on high-intent local queries and AI-search optimized EEAT content.
• Social Media Marketing: Build and manage campaigns, content strategy and reporting using a management platform.
• Paid Media Management: Plan and optimize a lean paid media budget across Google Ads, Meta, and traditional media. Own performance reporting and ROI analysis.
• Web & Conversion Optimization: Partner with web team to manage CRO testing, messaging hierarchy, and landing page strategy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Customer Experience, Product, and Operations to build GTM campaigns and feedback loops.
• Team Building: Help grow and manage internal and external contributors (designers, content writers, contractors).
• Automation Integration: Pilot new AI tools and workflows to scale CX, reporting, and marketing automation.
Qualifications:
• 6–10 years of experience in marketing leadership, ideally in a growth-stage company or mission-driven environment.
• Proven ability to balance strategic planning and tactical execution.
• Strong experience in SEO, content marketing, brand positioning, and performance media.
• Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce MC) and CRM (Salesforce preferred).
• Experience running integrated campaigns that align brand, demand gen, and CX.
• A growth mindset, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Pay range and compensation package - This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. If you are a motivated self-starter and are looking for a challenging opportunity in a growing company, we encourage you to apply.
Equal Opportunity Statement - Valley Solar is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace. Consistent with that goal, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, gender identity, or any other category protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
