About the Role

The Director of Carbon Investments Australia will play a key role in executing our long-term growth strategy within the Australian carbon market. This involves leveraging opportunities under the ERF scheme, developing partnerships, raising third-party capital, and deploying South Pole's investments into the market.
Main Responsibilities

• Execute the Australian growth strategy in the carbon market and third-party offerings to drive impactful and scalable results.">
• Oversee the development and management of a diverse pipeline of carbon projects under the ERF scheme to meet buyer and investor needs.">
• Lead interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution and downstream sales, including commercial and technical leads.">
• Build and expand partnerships to grow South Pole's market presence in Australia and increase revenue streams.">
• Oversee transactional phases, from origination and structuring to negotiation and closing for long-term offtake or investment agreements.">
• Collaborate with global functional and regional leaders to leverage technical expertise and network, driving business development activities.">
• Participate in regional leadership team meetings to contribute to strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities for growth.">
• Promote South Pole at regional events and maintain client satisfaction by engaging with local governments, public sectors, NGOs, and other stakeholders.">

Requirements

• MBA or relevant advanced degree in Finance, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.">
• Minimum 12 years experience in investment management, with a focus on carbon markets or sustainability investments.">
• Advanced experience in the Australian carbon market, with in-depth understanding of the ERF scheme and carbon finance.">
• Proven ability to attract and deploy significant third-party capital into carbon projects.">
• Expertise in financial modelling and forecasting, preferably in project finance or similar fields.">
• Able to devise and execute business strategies, surpass financial targets, and manage teams effectively.">
• Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, investors, and partners.">
• Experienced in negotiating and closing complex investment and offtake agreements.">
• Superior communication and presentation skills to represent South Pole at industry events.">
