Job Description
PepsiCo is seeking a Director of Agriculture Policy / Global Public Policy based in Fort Washington, MD. This role involves developing strategies to enhance PepsiCo's policy standing in North America, focusing on agricultural sustainability and supply chain resilience. Responsibilities include leading advocacy campaigns, representing the company to policymakers, and consulting on public policy developments. The compensation ranges from $125,900 to $249,900, with additional performance-based bonuses.

This role is based in Washington, D.C. and will report to the Vice President of Public Policy & Government Affairs (PPGA). This position is responsible for developing and implementing programs and strategies to enhance PepsiCo's global policy standing, with primary focus in North America, and help achieve the company's food systems and agricultural Public Policy and Government Affairs objectives, particularly in the areas of supply chain resilience and sustainability.
Responsibilities
• NA leader for agriculture policy for PPGA function, supporting actions of PPGA global and region colleagues, as well as coordinating with global sustainability office, supply chain and corporate strategy on climate change, food systems and agricultural sustainability.
• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive issue advocacy campaigns and management strategies on key agricultural policies in North America.
• Represent the company externally on priority environmental policy issues for the company with policymakers and other key stakeholders.
• Provide critical policy support to government affairs colleagues and North American sustainability colleagues on agriculture legislation and regulation in North America.
• Monitor, prioritize and provide consultation to senior executives on public policy developments in priority areas.
• Maintain a network of external relationships with lawmakers, staff, industry representatives, nongovernmental organizations and other critical stakeholders.
• Carry out strategies and actions with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
• Maintain strong interaction and internal coordination with the Global Sustainability Office, Global Agriculture Office, and broader Corporate Affairs function as well as relevant internal Subject Matter Experts within PepsiCo's North American businesses and at corporate level, including Operations, Procurement and Legal functions.
Compensation and Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 - $249,900.
• Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
• Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
• 10+ years in food and agriculture government affairs, public policy, or corporate affairs.
• Strong understanding of government & legislative process.
• Service in USDA or House/Senate Agriculture Committees, preferred.
• Ability to understand agricultural policy trends and translate into implications for industry.
• Strong leadership and relationship development skills internally and externally.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) to lay out issues and solutions, while interfacing with multiple levels in the organization.
• A strong understanding of the agricultural and reporting public policy landscape - the actions of companies, governments and NGOs.
• Ability to put together and manage coalitions, particularly with key commodity associations that represent major inputs for the company.
• Strong negotiation skills to manage internal and external stakeholders on issues.
• Must have ability to work independently and efficiently with little supervision.
• Ability to prioritize issues and adapt quickly.
• Should have demonstrated experience managing projects to completion.
• Must be willing to travel 25-30%, some international.
