About the Role
The Director, Valuations will be an integral member of the team, working closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership in a deeply collaborative environment.
The Director, Valuations is responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of portfolio and project valuations, evaluating and providing strategic guidance on acquisitions or other transactions, and supporting business planning and strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will be the primary architect and manager of the financial frameworks used to value assets and evaluate transactions, collaborating closely with other teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead financial underwriting and coordinate with the broader team on due diligence for new investments and transactions.
• Lead the valuation of assets for various transactions (including acquisitions, financings, and other structures) and provide strategic guidance on structures.
• Prepare materials for internal stakeholders, including internal updates, investment presentations, and reporting.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to assess performance, identify trends, and evaluate opportunities to improve profitability and returns.
• Develop and manage project-level and portfolio-level models.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Support strategic planning efforts, including annual budgets, long-term plans, capital expenditure reviews, and financing needs.
Knowledge and Experience Required
• 8+ years of experience in renewable energy, private equity, infrastructure, power, or other relevant fields. Experience in residential solar preferred.
• Deep understanding of the solar market and familiarity with typical transaction structures.
• Strong analytical skills with deep expertise in financial and investment analysis, including advanced financial modelling capabilities.
• Strong proficiency in Excel. Proficiency in other programs involving large data sets is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate across teams.
• Meticulous attention to detail, combined with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
