Koch Industries is seeking a Director of Sustainable Packaging for Georgia Pacific's EarthKraft™ Mailers. This role involves leading the commercialization of new product lines, managing existing ones, and overseeing Customer Service and Sales teams. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable innovation and growth. Candidates can work remotely but should expect 20% travel to Atlanta and other sites.

Join Georgia Pacific's EarthKraft™ Mailers business (a division of GP Packaging and Cellulose ) a Leader in Sustainable Innovation. GP is expanding its product lines, working with key customers to create and launch new products to complement our already thriving recyclable mailer business. This is an exciting opportunity to drive sustainable innovation and shape the future of our rapidly evolving Mailer's business!
We are seeking a Director, Sustainable Packaging to spearhead the commercialization of our new product lines and manage our existing product lines. The Director will act as the "center of the wheel," leading a cross-functional team to scale production and sales rapidly across North America, while also managing key customer relationships. This individual will oversee our Customer Service and Sales teams and collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Operations leaders. The ideal candidate will be proactive, a self-starter, and someone who is committed to helping us grow and manage through a period of rapid change. You'll engage regularly with internal and external partners to proactively solve issues and prioritize efforts to ensure we increase profitability and achieve our growth targets.
This position reports directly to the leader of the EarthKraft™ business.
Location: Remote candidates are welcome to apply. This position requires 20% of periodic travel to our Atlanta, GA headquarters and various sites. Please note, if you are not based in Atlanta, you may need to travel more frequently.
What You Will Do
• Lead and influence business partners and vendors, providing guidance and support.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for current and future customers on a range of issues.
• Manage the rapid commercial scale-up of one or more new products to multiple customers and distribution points, working with the business leader and internal supply chain and commercial support teams.
• Identify critical paths and proactively keep us on track; solve problems effectively as they arise.
• Supervise our Customer Service and Sales teams.
• Strategically plan for the next phases of growth and execute with your team, considering manufacturing process changes, new product introductions, and category expansion.
• Provide business and project performance monitoring, reporting, and improvement.
• Draft internal communications, including capital requests/Decision-Making Framework memos, as needed.
• Manage pricing, working with the business leader and other commercial support.
• Advance our principled-based culture within the team by applying and reinforcing the company's values.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in operations finance, strategy, business development, supply chain, brand management, financial analysis, OR business finance (including commercial support roles)
• Previous experience in financial and economic decision-making
• Proven ability to influence during change initiatives or business transformation
• Experience managing across multiple workstreams
• Flexibility for travel up to 20%
What Will Put You Ahead
• Direct Supervisory or Project Leadership experience
• MBA, Business Leadership, or internal Corporate Strategy role(s)
• Experience launching and/or growing new products
• Experience managing external manufacturing vendors
• Experience identifying trends, performing analyses, and providing strategic support for business decisions including pricing, contract negotiations, new product launches, and capital investments
• Experience engaging with high-value customers to discuss long-term strategy, address customer inquiries, and focus on creating value and solving problems
