About the position
The Director, Sourcing - Regeneration at Walmart will lead the Sourcing Regeneration Team, focusing on developing and implementing complex sourcing strategies that align with Walmart's sustainability and regeneration initiatives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable sourcing practices, educating suppliers on regenerative practices, and ensuring accountability to sustainability goals. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to driving positive change in the sourcing industry.
Responsibilities
• Own the Sourcing Regeneration Strategy for communicating and educating Sourcing suppliers based on Walmart Inc. Regeneration & Sustainability initiatives.

• Lead a team of three Sr. Managers responsible for different SBU supplier bases.

• Develop and implement the Sourcing supplier training strategy to educate suppliers on Regenerative practices.
,
• Survey suppliers on their Regenerative progress.
,
• Serve as a subject-matter expert for sourcing commodities that align with regeneration goals.
,
• Lead communication and capability development trainings for supplier partners and internal stakeholders.
,
• Influence business partners to prioritize innovative sourcing practices that support sustainability commitments.
,
• Evaluate potential suppliers based on performance metrics and negotiate contracts for competitive and sustainable costs.
,
• Calculate cost impacts of commodities/products and track awarded costs against actual costs.
,
• Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships for long-term partnerships.
,
• Assess and enhance supplier production and distribution capabilities for reliable supply.
,
• Drive execution of business plans and projects, championing continuous improvement and sustainability.
,
• Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
,
• Evaluate the effectiveness of current plans and initiatives to meet regeneration needs.
,
• Collaborate with partners to identify opportunities for efficiency and community engagement.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business or related area and 5 years' experience in supply chain, transportation, logistics, or related area, or 7 years' experience in the same fields with 1 year's supervisory experience.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

• Deep knowledge of ESG principles and relevant reporting frameworks.
,
• Excellent communication and training skills on regeneration topics.
,
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management with a focus on sustainability.

• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or related area.

• Experience in procurement in a retail environment.
