NOMAC is seeking a Director of Innovation and New Technology in Dubai to implement innovative technology solutions, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce costs. The role involves leading cross-functional projects, monitoring market trends, collaborating with various departments, and preparing business cases. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 15+ years of experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. The position allows for remote work and requires attendance at international meetings.
Director, Innovation and New Technology (Saudi)
Director, Innovation and New Technology will generate, propose, and implement innovative technology solutions to address business-critical issues. The goal is to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and boost NOMAC's O&M competitiveness.
• Lead and oversee various cross-functional innovation projects across different sizes and technologies.
• Monitor market trends and identify disruptions by attending seminars and technological events.
• Drive the innovation and new technology agenda, aligning with NOMAC's O&M business strategy, and identify solutions to support strategic goals.
• Collaborate with functions such as SVP, VPs, plant PGMs, SMEs, PAT, ACWA Power Innovation, BD & technology teams, NOMAC BD, and other departments to understand challenges and focus areas.
• Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to work with OEMs, service providers, and subcontractors for demos and solution development.
• Conduct due diligence visits to find meaningful solutions for business-critical issues and prepare comprehensive reports for management and stakeholders.
• Develop risk matrices for solutions, present mitigation strategies, and action plans to management.
• Work with internal teams like Technical, Benchmarking, and Risk to highlight risks, opportunities, and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Prepare and present business cases for innovative solutions to management.
• Report regularly on department activities, challenges, and mitigation actions to supervisors.
• Foster a culture of innovation within NOMAC through an internal platform, sourcing new ideas, and rewarding top innovations.
• Contribute to strategic management through presentations on new technology solutions.
• Attend international meetings, in person or remotely, to understand O&M challenges requiring innovative solutions.
Budget Management
Prepare and monitor the department's budget, ensuring financial performance aligns with targets and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment
• Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures, safeguarding employee safety and environmental responsibility.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to organizational change initiatives.
Skills
• Strong technocommercial, analytical, and business skills.
• Ability to structure solutions that minimize risks and maximize benefits.
• Attention to detail and professional inclusiveness.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationshipbuilding skills.
• Understanding of Power & Water sector project development, including technical, legal, and financial aspects.
• Proactive, highenergy, and capable of working under pressure and remotely.
Who Will Fit?
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
• 15+ years' experience, with at least 5 in a managerial role, preferably in Power & Water sectors.
• Extensive knowledge of fossil fuel, renewables (solar, wind, batteries), and water desalination (Sea Water RO).
