McKesson is seeking a Director of Environmental Programs to lead strategic sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and costs across its operations. The position is remote and requires a Master's degree in Business Administration or Environmental Science, along with relevant experience in environmental program management.

As the Director of Environmental Programs, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and overseeing strategic projects across McKesson’s real estate and operations portfolios to drive cost efficiencies and reduce emissions. Reporting to the Senior Director of Climate Change and Environmental Programs, you will lead initiatives that align with McKesson’s sustainability goals and operational strategies. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, including Real Estate, Operations, and Finance, to ensure successful project execution and measurable impact on our environmental footprint.
Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of sustainability and innovation, promoting best practices in environmental program management, and ensuring that McKesson continues to be a leader in environmental responsibility within the healthcare sector.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Lead the strategic planning and implementation of environmental programs aimed at reducing emissions and operational costs across McKesson’s real estate and operations portfolios.
• Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure the successful execution of sustainability initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for environmental improvements and integrate sustainability into core business operations.
• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support McKesson’s environmental goals and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with external partners and industry experts to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in environmental sustainability and integrate innovative solutions into McKesson’s operations.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of environmental programs, providing regular reports to senior leadership.
• Drive a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship within the organization through effective communication, training, and leadership.
Education & Working Experience:
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental program management, sustainability initiatives, or a similar leadership role, preferably within the healthcare or real estate sector.
• Working knowledge of sustainability programs specific to energy, environment and emissions (e.g. CDP, GRI, SASB, The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-based Targets Initiative, etc.).
• Extensive knowledge of sustainability practices, energy management, and emissions reduction strategies.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing large-scale environmental projects and achieving measurable outcomes.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Aptitude and excitement to lead various cross-functional work-streams while engaging a variety of teams at different levels (including executives).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work-streams with competing and sometimes urgent deadlines and experience influencing upwards to keep programs and projects moving.
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Skillful in adequately crafting messages to target audiences with experience in presenting to senior leadership.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams, develop strong relationships, and bring individuals together to focus on common goals.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements and timelines.
• Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and/or mentor a team of analysts.
• Excellent attention to detail with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Creative and innovative thinker with a proven ability to proactively research, prioritize and recommend solutions.
• High sense of urgency with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position
$124,500 - $207,500
