Job Description
The Director of Business Development for Distributed Energy Storage at e-STORAGE in Lexington, KY, is responsible for planning and growing the US energy storage market segment. This role involves developing customer relationships, managing proposals, and aligning product strategies. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree and over 5 years of experience in solar or energy storage sales. This position is responsible for planning and growth of the Distributed Storage segment of the US energy storage market. This customer-focused position will develop and manage long-term customer relationships and gain a deep understanding of customer needs. This role will also drive the internal activities required to ensure the organization’s success in the Distributed Storage segment.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the implementation and execution of company’s Distributed Storage Solutions business strategy.
• Create and cultivate relationships with Distributed Storage customers and promote the company’s energy storage solutions.
• Manage the proposal development process in collaboration with other departments.
• Negotiate technical and commercial contract terms with customers by working together with the commercial team.
• Manage and track the Distributed Storage pipeline.
• Collect & understand customer needs, Distributed Storage market trends and input from across organizational leadership to align product strategy and roadmap.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of solar or energy storage sales or business development experience.
• Experience selling to commercial and industrial customers is highly preferred.
• Well-developed lead generation, negotiation and closing skills.
• Understanding of power systems and energy management solutions is required.
• Technical background in electrical power and energy storage is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational, planning and implementing skills
• Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement approximately 50%.
