Job Description

beBee Careers is seeking a Design for a Sustainable Future leader in Chicago, IL. The role involves leading climate action strategies, guiding clients on resilient design practices, ensuring high design quality, mentoring teams, and representing the company in sustainability initiatives. Candidates should have a strong background in building science, experience with certifications, and skills in design software like Revit. This is a full-time position with no degree requirement.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our climate action strategy, guiding clients and teams on high-performance, resilient design practices, and ensuring that all projects maintain the highest level of design quality.
About the Role

This role requires a strong background in building science, high-performance systems, and sustainable strategies, with experience achieving building certifications.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Project Leadership – Guide clients and teams on high-performance, resilient design practices to set and achieve ambitious sustainability goals.
• Design Excellence – Ensure that all projects maintain the highest level of design quality, with sustainability and performance-based measures integrated at every stage.
• Mentorship – Foster professional growth by mentoring sustainability and design teams, developing the next generation of sustainability leaders.
• Industry Leadership – Represent us as a regional leader in sustainability through public speaking, publishing, and engagement with industry networks.
• Workshop Facilitation – Lead workshops with teams, clients, and stakeholders to encourage and deepen their understanding of sustainability practices.
• Cultivate trust and loyalty, positioning us as a preferred sustainability partner.
Requirements
• A strong background in building science, high-performance systems, and sustainable strategies, with experience achieving building certifications.
• A deep understanding of performance-based codes and ability to integrate innovative, data-driven solutions into design.
• Knowledge of Revit for design and documentation; familiarity with Rhino, Ladybug, and Climate Studio for performance modeling.
• Proven ability to build trust, manage client relationships, and secure business.
• Experience driving change initiatives and developing strategic plans for team growth and climate action services.
