Job Description
Singapore Post Ltd is seeking a Deputy Vice President, Sustainability to lead the development and implementation of its sustainability strategy. The role involves driving eco-friendly practices, ensuring compliance, and integrating sustainability into business strategies. The position requires overseeing sustainability reporting, engaging with stakeholders, and staying updated on global trends and legislation. The Deputy Vice President will also educate and raise awareness about sustainability within the organization.
Job Description Be a Sustainability Champion to work with the Group Chief Financial Officer to lead the development and implementation of our organization's sustainability strategy. Drive environmentally friendly and socially responsible business practices while ensuring compliance. Partner with business units to integrate sustainability into their core strategies. Provide expert guidance and training on implementing and commercializing sustainability initiatives. Oversee data collection and reporting in line with SGX and International Reporting standards. Be an ambassador for sustainability, inspiring both internal and external stakeholders. Sustainability Strategy and Framework Embedment Formulate the organization’s sustainability strategy, approach that co-relates to business strategy and structure Update the Board and management on progress against targets and adequacy of strategy set, recommending any updates necessary for sustainability strategy to stay ahead of the curve and competition Establish and embed the sustainability framework, guiding business units and related support units Develop and update objectives, scope narratives and financial/cost evaluations and modelling in support of sustainability projects Sustainability Reporting Ensure the organization is adhering to its obligations to SGX listing rules on sustainability reporting ensure data reported are accurate and complete to the standards required of external assurance process Keep updated on reporting rule changes and engage with management and Board on potential impact to the organization Lead all Board agendas on sustainability related matters of the organization and papers in consultation with GCFO and engage with the chair of Board Sustainability Committee or equivalent Global Trends & Developments Attend key sustainability conferences and forums/ roundtables that are relevant to our industry as well as Ecosperity organized by Temasek Research and be kept updated on global trends that potentially impact the Company and its group of entities; consider who in the organization needs to be aware and prepare necessary communications Be on the pulse for global Sustainability developments that supports the Company sustainability strategy/ approach and reporting requirements Support businesses with competitive landscape scan on sustainable best practices / lessons learnt Stay updated on relevant Sustainability legislation and standards to ensure full compliance in the markets we operate in Track Performance Against Metrics and Targets Establish a Group-wide data basis of preparation setting boundaries to ensure consistent and accurate data collection Guide the Sustainability Analyst to maintain the data collection and analysis platform that the Group can be using consistently Track the ongoing performance in engagement with the businesses against the metrics to ensure achievement of targets Establish performance dashboard to inform management decisions for improvement Quantify cost savings or revenue enhancements wherever possible to enable management and board on value brought upon by sustainability focus Communications Educate as well as raise sustainability awareness through knowledge sharing and training across all levels within the organization. You will also influence and lead through others to drive sustainability performance as part of their day to day role Work with Brand & Communications to consistently communicate sustainability achievements internally and externally to build credible, positive brand reputation and position the company as a leader of Sustainability Reporting/ Industry Benchmarking/ Rating Agencies Identify industry benchmarking platforms and strategize how SingPost can be positioned well Work to understand the rating agencies we need to be rated well with in support of financing needs, investor and customer expectations of the company and carrying out analysis on how we can be well positioned Government Relations Be managing government relations in helping the business in certain required outcomes Be leading sustainability initiatives with regulators that helps path the way for sustainability commercialising plans or brand positioning Technical Go-to Expert to Business Units Be the resource that business team go to for technical expertise pertaining to sustainability related matters and analysis Requirements Bachelor of Engineering / Environmental Science or equivalent At least 7 years of similar work experience and 3 years of leadership / management experience Sustainability Expertise: Deep knowledge of sustainability practices, legislation, and global trends. Strategic Planning & Leadership: Proven ability to formulate and drive sustainability strategies at an organizational level. Reporting & Compliance: Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks and compliance requirements Communication & Influence: Strong communication and training skills to raise awareness and influence stakeholders at all levels. Data & Performance Tracking: Ability to develop systems for tracking, reporting, and analyzing sustainability performance. Government & Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of how government regulations affect sustainability initiatives and how to lead related discussions.
