Connecticut Energy Efficiency Board
The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Board (EEB) was created by Public Acts 11-80, 13-298, and 21-139. Its 17 appointed members represent private and public interests, including residential, low-income, chambers of commerce, business, agricultural, community and municipal consumers. The EEB guides the distribution of the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund (CEEF).
DEEP Can Appoint Representatives From:
• An environmental group knowledgeable in energy conservation program collaboratives (1 seat)
• An electric distribution company in whose territories the activities take place for such programs (1 seat)
• A state-wide manufacturing association (1 seat)
• A chamber of commerce (1 seat)
• A state-wide business association (1 seat)
• A state-wide retail organization (1 seat)
• A state-wide farm association (1 seat)
• A municipal electric energy cooperative (1 seat)
• Among residential customers (1 seat)
• Among low-income residential customers (1 seat)
• Among municipalities (1 seat)
Connecticut Equity and Environmental Justice Advisory Council
The CT Equity and Environmental Justice Advisory Council (“CEEJAC”) was created through the Governor’s Executive Order 21-3 to advise the DEEP Commissioner on current and historic environmental injustice, pollution reduction, energy equity, climate change mitigation and resiliency, health disparities, and racial inequality.
DEEP Can Appoint Representatives From:
• Environmental Justice Communities (3 seats)
• CT-based environmental advocacy groups (3 seats)
• Large and small business and industry (2 seats)
• Municipalities or regional councils of government (2 seats)
Connecticut Hydrogen & Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate Board
The Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate (CHEAPR) Program, and CHEAPR Board, set rebate levels and determine income eligibility requirements for Connecticut residents who purchase or lease new or used hydrogen vehicles or electric vehicles.
DEEP Can Appoint Representatives From:
• Industrial fleet or transportation companies (3 seats)
Citizens' Advisory Board for the Connecticut Migratory Bird and Resident Game Bird Conservation Stamp Program
The Citizens' Advisory Board for the CT Migratory Bird and Resident Game Bird Conservation Stamp Program advises the Commissioner on the design, production and procurement of the Connecticut Migratory Bird Conservation Stamp and the expenditure of funds generated from the sale of each stamp and associated art products.
DEEP Can Appoint Representatives From:
• Organizations having a record of activity in migratory or resident game bird or habitat conservation and individuals with expertise or recognized knowledge in an area pertinent and valuable to the program. (7 seats)
State Natural Heritage, Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Review Board
The State Natural Heritage, Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Review Board is an independent advisory group established to advise the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection in carrying out the protected Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Grant Program and the Recreation and Natural Heritage Trust Program.
DEEP Can Appoint Representatives:
• From a community of color, low-income community or community-based organization, or professor from a college or university in the state with expertise in environmental justice (1 seat)
West Rock Ridge State Park Advisory Council
The West Rock Ridge State Park Advisory Council was established to advise the Commissioner on the development and maintenance of the West Rock Ridge conservation area.
DEEP Can Appoint Representatives From:
• The general public (2 seats). Special interest will be given to applicants with an interest and familiarity with West Rock and conservation.
