Job Description

Chestnut Carbon is hiring a Data Technician to assist with photo processing, including organization and digitization of photosets. This part-time remote position requires 10 to 20 hours of work per week and involves collaboration with the Quality Assurance Coordinator. Candidates should have a high school degree, computer competency, and good communication skills. The role offers flexibility and potential for advancement, with a pay rate of $15-$18 per hour.
The Data Technician primarily assists with photo processing. Photo processing includes organization, digitization, and coding of photosets taken from the field to generate various metrics. The Data Technician will work closely with the Quality Assurance Coordinator to process data and produce deliverables under supervision from the Data Manager.

This position is a permanent appointment starting ASAP. The company is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, though the position is a remote/work-at-home from anywhere within the United States. This is a part-time, hourly contractor position.

We need a commitment to 10 to 20 hours of work in a fluctuating environment. When work is available it needs to be completed in a timely manner. Our work can be seasonal and dependent on when we have boots on the ground collecting data for us to process. Additional hours are sometimes available for separate projects.

Ideal Qualifictions
• Hold a high school or higher degree, with an interest in the environment.
• The ability to Identify Tree species (or the ability to learn fast).
• Competency in the use of computers, with reliable high-speed internet is required.
• Have good communication skills, including both oral and written.
• Have good time-management and self-management skills. Can take direction and work independently to reach identified goals on a set timeline.
• Are able to maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive project deliverables.
• Have a commitment to solving the environmental challenges of our time.
• Can work effectively with remote team members throughout the U.S.

$15.00 per hour ($18.00 per hour with tree identification experience)
