Data Scientist Needed for Climate Change & Earth Surface Temperature Analysis

Upwork is seeking a Data Scientist to analyze climate change trends using Earth surface temperature data. Responsibilities include processing datasets, performing statistical analysis, creating visualizations, and optionally developing predictive models. Candidates should have strong Python skills and familiarity with climate datasets. The position is remote and aims to derive insights and reports on temperature trends.
We are looking for an experienced data scientist or analyst to help us analyze climate change trends using Earth surface temperature data. Our goal is to extract meaningful insights, visualize patterns, and possibly develop predictive models.

Responsibilities:

- Process and clean climate change datasets (e.g., global temperature records, regional trends).

- Perform statistical analysis to identify temperature trends and anomalies.

- Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate findings.

- (Optional) Develop machine learning models to predict future temperature trends.

Requirements:

- Strong experience with Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, SciPy).

Familiarity with climate datasets like Berkeley Earth, NASA GISS, or NOAA.

- Experience in statistical modeling and trend analysis.

- Ability to create clear, insightful data visualizations.

- Knowledge of SQL and data storage best practices is a plus.

Deliverables:

- Cleaned and structured climate dataset.

- Analytical report on temperature trends with visualizations.
