Project Environmental Data Scientist
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead data management efforts on projects, including preparing analyses and visualizations using GIS applications, and developing and maintaining environmental databases.
This exciting opportunity will help grow our data analysis and visualization practices while contributing to challenging environmental projects across multiple industries and market sectors.
About the Role
This position involves leading multi-disciplinary project teams, supporting business development, staff development, and mentoring junior staff. You will also communicate complex analyses, contribute to report sections, and author speeches, presentations, technical articles, and correspondence.
Responsibilities:
• Data Management: Lead data management efforts on projects, including preparing analyses and visualizations using GIS applications, and developing and maintaining environmental databases;
• Business Development: Support business development, including developing niche services, bringing in new internal and external clients, and obtaining repeat business from existing clients;
• Task and Project Management: Plan and implement technical scope on projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
• Mentoring and Leadership: Manage and mentor junior staff, managing subcontractors, and work plan development;
• Communication: Communicate analyses, contribute to report sections, and author speeches, presentations, technical articles, and correspondence;
• Team Leadership: Direct multi-disciplinary project teams, supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring;
• Industry Best Practices: Contribute to industry best practices that support the continual improvement of quality and efficiency of information management services;
• Software and Processes: Find and implement new software platforms and/or internal processes that add value to projects and new capabilities to our technical offering.
