About the position

The Dam Removal Specialist / Stream Restoration Professional will lead and manage all phases of dam removal and stream restoration projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and applying advanced restoration techniques. This role involves overseeing project planning, design, construction, and post-removal monitoring, while also providing technical guidance and managing junior staff.

Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all phases of dam removal and stream restoration projects.
,
• Apply advanced knowledge of stream and restoration techniques to design and implement projects.
,
• Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
,
• Provide technical guidance and oversight on sediment transport, geomorphic assessments, and ecological monitoring.
,
• Prepare project proposals and budgets, including complex proposals in response to publicly solicited requests.
,
• Lead business development initiatives within operating groups.
,
• Serve as a technical resource to junior staff and review their technical deliverables.
,
• Maintain ongoing client interaction and participate in business development and client marketing events.

Requirements
• BS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field required.

• 10+ years of related experience in dam removal and stream restoration project experience.
,
• In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to dam removal and stream restoration.
,
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) license preferred.
