About the position

A privately owned Ag Consulting group is seeking a dedicated Crop/Farm Consultant to join their team in Onawa, Iowa. The primary responsibility of this role is to scout assigned acres and provide customers with detailed reports on the results, along with any necessary recommendations. The Consultant will also assist with farm planning, ensuring that clients receive tailored advice to optimize their agricultural practices. This position is crucial for maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring their farming operations are successful and sustainable. The pay for this position will be determined based on experience and qualifications. In addition to scouting and reporting, the Consultant will be responsible for making informed fertilizer and chemical recommendations, which are vital for crop health and yield. The role involves approximately three days of crop scouting per week, with two days dedicated to office work. This balance allows the Consultant to engage in quality conversations with elite growers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes best practices in agriculture. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agronomy and farm economics, enabling them to provide valuable insights to clients.

• B.S. in Ag or related field preferred but not required
