What you’ll be doing...
Verizon is looking for an experienced attorney to join the Corporate Governance and ESG Reporting team.
Responsibilities will include:
• Managing Verizon’s compliance with existing and emerging domestic and international sustainability-related regulatory frameworks (e.g., CSRD, ISSB, and UK TCFD) and preparing related disclosures.
• Partnering with subject matter experts across the company to draft and facilitate the publication of Verizon’s strategic sustainability-related reporting, including the Responsible Business Report, TCFD Report, CDP response and related disclosures.
• Preparing and reviewing SEC filings; monitoring and ensuring Verizon’s compliance with governance-related requirements under Delaware law, SEC rules and regulations, and NYSE and Nasdaq listing standards.
• Monitoring U.S. Federal and state and international sustainability-related legislative initiatives for impacts on Verizon and working with Verizon regulatory and policy teams on advocacy.
• Working collaboratively with members of the sustainability, accounting policy, external reporting, enterprise risk management and internal audit teams on reporting matters.
• Facilitating communications with investors, employees and other stakeholders regarding the company’s sustainability strategy and practices.
• Creating a strategic plan for the future of Verizon’s sustainability-related regulatory and voluntary reporting in response to the evolving legal landscape.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
• J.D. or L.L.M. degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Bar membership in good standing in at least one state.
• Experience in SEC disclosure at a top law firm or corporate legal department.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• Knowledge and understanding of U.S. state and federal and international sustainability-related reporting laws and voluntary sustainability-related reporting frameworks, such as SASB, TCFD and CDP.
• Experience using Workiva.
• Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships within an organization.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process a large volume of work in a timely manner with attention to detail.
• Excellent project management skills.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $151,000.00 and $280,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
