Job Description

Sempra is seeking a Corporate Sustainability Disclosures Program Manager in San Diego, CA. This role involves developing sustainability strategies, analyzing reporting frameworks, responding to investor inquiries, and contributing to the annual sustainability report. Responsibilities include establishing sustainability targets, performing data analytics, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. A bachelor's degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience are required. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing remote work on some days.
Primary Purpose

This position will develop and implement company-wide sustainability strategies. Review and analyze frameworks, policies, and legislation impacting non-financial disclosures and sustainability reporting requirements. Respond to investor inquiries and surveys related to sustainability. Contribute to the development of the annual sustainability report and other communications for investors, shareholders, employees, and other audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Serve as a key contributor responsible for developing Sempra's sustainability reporting strategy and content for the annual sustainability report.
• Assess frameworks such as GRI, ISSB, and the UN SDGs for integration into our sustainability reporting, KPIs/targets, and strategy.
• Evaluate sustainability trends and management practices. Monitor, develop and manage recommendations for voluntary non-financial disclosures and regulatory sustainability reporting requirements, including frameworks, policies, and legislation, to drive compliance and mitigate risks.
• Respond to key sustainability-related surveys and inquiries from sustainability research and ratings firms, including the Carbon Disclosure Project, S&P Global (Dow Jones Sustainability Index), Sustainalytics, ISS, MSCI, JUST Capital, and others.
• Establish sustainability targets and KPIs and support efforts to measure and visualize progress.
• Perform data analytics and trend analysis to assess target achievement. Report progress via the annual sustainability report, dashboards, external reporting, and other materials.
• Cultivate relationships across operating company sustainability teams and subject matter experts to support organizational alignment on our sustainability strategy and reporting efforts.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Sempra operating companies to support the implementation of the Sempra sustainable business strategy and objectives. Implement sustainability program requirements across all areas, including operations, risk management, legal, investor relations, corporate communications, supply management, IT/cybersecurity, corporate citizenship, and diversity & inclusion.
• Develop and deliver materials for internal business partners, including sustainability teams, the Steering Committee, investor relations, and Board presentations.
• Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties), including representing Sempra's sustainability team internally and externally, collaborating in industry working groups, and partnering with cross-functional operating company experts.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of work experience in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, Data Science, or related field is required.

Experience
• 6-8 years of performing data management and analytics is required. Relevant experience and knowledge of the corporate responsibility/sustainability field a plus.
• 4+ years of understanding of sustainability ratings (S&P Global, CDP, MSCI, Sustainalytics) and frameworks is preferred.
• We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
