Job Overview

Location: Huntsville, AL or San Luis Obispo, CA

Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000

FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary

As the Corporate Director of Environmental Health and Safety, you will develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risks, and promote safety across our organization. Your expertise will support the safe operation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and safeguard our employees, customers, and the environment. The role requires frequent domestic travel (~25%) and occasional international travel based on business needs.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and procedures aligned with regulations and company goals.
• Provide strategic leadership on EHS matters, fostering a safety culture.
• Conduct assessments and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, waste management, and hazardous materials handling.
• Deliver EHS training to educate employees on safe practices and compliance.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate EHS into product design and manufacturing.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry groups.
• Monitor and analyze EHS metrics to identify improvement areas.
• Lead incident investigations and corrective measures.
• Manage EHS documentation, permits, and reporting.
• Stay updated on UAS technology and industry-specific EHS considerations.
• Support compliance with customer-specific EHS requirements and business development.
• Promote continuous improvement through performance indicators and initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees and certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.
• Extensive EHS management experience, preferably in aerospace or UAS industries.
• Deep knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
• Proficiency with EHS management systems and tools.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
