About the position

The Coordinator of Environmental Health & Safety at UCHealth is responsible for monitoring and reporting on environmental health and safety concerns, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, and assisting in the evaluation and development of program goals and objectives. This role involves conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and coordinating industrial hygiene surveys, all while maintaining records and responding to regulatory audits.

Responsibilities
• Monitors performance of Safety, Life Safety, and Hazardous Materials Management Programs.

• Performs periodic safety inspections, incident investigations, and fire/internal response drills.
,
• Coordinates industrial hygiene surveys and environmental monitoring.
,
• Maintains environmental permits and occupational exposures records, supporting OSHA record keeping.
,
• Responds to regulatory inspections and audits.
,
• Reviews environmental audit reports.
,
• Assists with internal emergency response education.
,
• Contributes to the development and reporting on safety committee agenda items.
,
• Assists in day-to-day functions such as purchasing, contract review, record retention, and database management.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health/Safety.

• 3 years in Environmental Health and Safety.
,
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

Nice-to-haves
• Professional certification, OSHA 40 hours Hazardous Waste Operations, NFPA or related fields.

• Experience in a health care setting with an emphasis on the Joint Commission Environment of Care accreditation standards.
