Construction Trainee

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our natural gas construction crew. As a trainee, you will be part of an intensive year-long training program where you will learn the skills necessary to become a qualified construction worker.

Your primary responsibilities will include performing construction and related activities on mains, services, and equipment. This may include making mechanical connections, pipe fusing, and pipe joining work. You will also be responsible for reading meters, inspecting job sites, and coordinating jobs with internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong desire to learn and develop your skills in field construction. You should also be able to use associated tools and mechanized equipment such as backhoes, mini-excavators, bore machines, dump trucks, and jack hammers. Additionally, you should have basic math and reading skills, and be able to interface with employees and customers to answer questions or resolve issues with tact and diplomacy.

The ideal candidate will be physically fit, able to work in adverse weather conditions, and able to lift up to 100 pounds. You should also be able to safely operate company vehicles and equipment, and perform inspections and minor maintenance as necessary.
