Conservation Tech II, Ecological Monitoring

The Conservation Tech II position at Trinity County Resource Conservation District involves conducting ecological monitoring tasks such as Northern Spotted Owl surveys and salmon spawning surveys. This position will be conducting Northern Spotted Owl surveys, in-stream water temperature monitoring, spawning salmon surveys, and additional multi-disciplinary opportunities. This is a full-time, temporary position with pay of $21.00 per hour. The position will run from April to September 2026. The position has flexible scheduling, paid leave, medical benefits, and retirement options.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications of this position will need to be addressed in your application or interview: 1. Ability to hike upwards of 6 miles through rugged terrain, carrying up to 30 pounds 2. Ability to lift 50 pounds 3. Ability to work independently or as a team to complete tasks, sometimes with minimal direct supervision 4. Ability to complete work safely in a backcountry setting with a crew of 2-4 people 5. Ability to follow verbal or written protocols, communicate effectively, and independently solve problems 6. Flexibility to assist with interdisciplinary tasks 7.
