About the Role:
Pacific Forest Trust is a leader in forest conservation, working to deliver landscape-scale results and develop innovative incentives for conservation at national and local levels. Our goal is to sustain rural communities, restore climate-resilient forests, enhance water security, and protect landscapes across ownership boundaries.
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Conservation Program Manager, who will oversee all aspects of conservation easement and fee title acquisitions, including property due diligence, negotiations, and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of conservation easement and fee title acquisitions, ensuring consistency with our policies and procedures.
• Actively source and develop the pipeline of conservation easements and fee title projects within our strategic focal areas.
• Manage and develop Conservation staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Secure acquisition-specific conservation funding from relevant public and philanthropic sources.
• Cultivate conservation partnerships through outreach to private landowners, foresters, public agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve conservation policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Land Trust Accreditation Commission standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in conservation easement and fee title acquisitions, with a track record of successful closings.
• Proven ability to obtain significant grants from public agencies for conservation acquisitions.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience, with a strong commitment to team leadership and development.
• Advanced degree or equivalent professional training in natural resource management, conservation real estate, or law.
• Strong commitment to Pacific Forest Trust's mission and values, with a passion for excellence and sustainability.
