Jackson State University is seeking a full-time Community Planner for its Community Engagement Department in Jackson, MS. Description
The Department of Community Engagement is accepting applications for its Community Planner position.
Examples of Duties
• Oversee daily office operations and ensure that office processes run smoothly.
• Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of office equipment.
• Organize and schedule meetings and appointments.
• Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
• Develop and maintain a filing system.
• Handle office-related inquiries and provide general support to visitors.
• Plan Community Engagement activities, such as Crop Drop, Garden Events, and stakeholders' meetings.
• Manage office budget and expenditures; reviews documents for edits.
• Implement and maintain office procedures and policies.
• Liaison with facility management vendors, including cleaning, catering, and security services.
• Manages Community Engagement websites and social media accounts.
• Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in urban planning, public administration, community design, geography, urban studies, economics, sociology, architecture or a related field.
