Pattern Energy is hiring a Community Engagement Consultant for the NM and AZ region, responsible for local engagement and communications. Responsibilities
Job Description Pattern Energy is seeking a Community Engagement Consultant to support local engagement and communications activities for Pattern’s New Mexico and Arizona portfolio. Based in New Mexico with travel across both New Mexico and Arizona, the position is responsible for supporting and implementing community engagement plans, fostering relationships, and engaging with local stakeholders, effectively communicating project construction updates, organizing events, and representing Pattern at community meetings.Key Accountabilities
• Develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders.
• Identify and cultivate partnerships with community organizations to enhance Pattern’s presence in our local project communities.
• Implement and execute strategic community engagement initiatives to foster positive relationships with landowners, community groups, and local stakeholders.
• Provide program management and administrative support for public engagement plans and Pattern’s Community Giving Program.
• Create and distribute project updates and proactively communicate Pattern’s mission to stakeholders.
• Represent Pattern at community events and conduct meetings with landowners, stakeholders and local leaders.
• Plan and execute Pattern-led events including meetings, community gatherings, and informational sessions.
• Represent Pattern at community events such as fairs, rodeos and conventions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify engagement opportunities and potential challenges and implement effective strategies to address those challenges.
Qualifications
QualificationsExperience/Qualifications/Education Required
• Minimum of five years of experience in public engagement, community relations, project management, community organizing, campaigns or other related areas.
• Preference for experience in political and/or issue-based campaigns.
• Strong relationship management skills with proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Experience navigating complex projects with multiple stakeholder interests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to craft compelling story narratives.
• Strong event planning and management abilities with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
• Valid driver’s license, transportation and willingness to travel across New Mexico and Arizona.
• Ability to work approximately-40 hours, primarily during standard workdays, with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend hours required.
Compensation & Details
• Monthly retainer: $6,000 - $9,000 USD
• Contract position with full expense reimbursement, including travel costs
• Travel requirement: ~ 50% of work time
