Job Description
The Global Green Growth Institute is seeking a Communications and Knowledge Sharing Intern in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supporting communications efforts, including drafting newsletters, managing social media, creating visual content, and assisting with translations. Candidates must be enrolled in or recently graduated from relevant programs and have strong English and Arabic skills. The internship lasts 3 to 6 months and requires on-site presence in Abu Dhabi.

• CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:
The GGGI UAE program is seeking talented and motivated individuals to support the program's communications and knowledge-sharing efforts. This opportunity is ideal for those passionate about environmental sustainability communications and eager to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications within an international organization.
The intern would perform the following tasks:
- Support newsletters drafting, event write-ups, press releases, social media posts and report sections.
- Help improve GGGI’s branding and support the regular updating of GGGI UAE’s social media accounts and webpage.
- Create infographics and other visual content for online and print collaterals, enhancing the understanding and engagement of key audiences.
- Support the dissemination of information on project progress and results through compelling messaging and visualization across various platforms.
- Support producing audio or video outputs from existing or original sources.
- Provide translation services covering English and Arabic to facilitate broader communication reach.
- Assist in reviewing, editing, and proofreading GGGI knowledge products, technical reports, training, and communication materials in line with GGGI guidelines.
- Coordinate and support capacity building activities, outreach, and campaigns, harnessing different media to promote the GGGI UAE Program.
- Stay abreast of research and news relevant to GGGI's areas of work and synthesize key messages for colleagues and key audiences.
- Support the logistics of meetings and events linked to the GGGI UAE program.
• ELIGIBILITY:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work.
- Possess an excellent command of English and Arabic.
• QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s (or final year) in Administration, Tourism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
- (MANDATORY) Be able to work and currently living in Abu Dhabi.
- (MANDATORY) Previous experience in communications and knowledge sharing. Previous experience in using social media for business or professional contexts.
- (MANDATORY) Excellent command of English & Arabic in professional settings.
- Photo recording and video production skills are a plus.
- Experience / knowledge of green growth and sustainable development is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds and time zones.
• SELECTION PROCESS:
- Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
• TERMS AND CONDITIONS*:
Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.
Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.
Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.
Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
