Job Description
Waste Warriors is seeking a Communications Manager in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. The role involves developing multimedia content plans, managing social media channels, and engaging with various media outlets to promote the organization's initiatives in Solid Waste Management. Candidates should have a strong portfolio in digital media, experience in campaign planning, and fluency in English and Hindi. Access to a personal laptop is required.

A healthier India with improved living standards and a better quality of life where waste workers are valued and respected for their work. To be a catalyst for practical and community led Solid Waste Management (SWM) initiatives in rural, urban, and protected areas and to pioneer replicable models of resource management, innovative practices, research and education in the field of solid waste management. To improve working conditions for waste workers and take positive steps towards integrating the unorganized waste sector into the formal Solid Waste Management (SWM) industry whilst reducing the stigma attached to waste.
What You Will Do:
● Coordinate with Sr. Managers to develop multimedia content plans for the organisation and for project teams.
● Coordinate with program leads to ideate new posts, stories, and build campaigns focused on efforts & impact.
● Supervise, coordinate and contribute to the writing, editing, and designing of content to be published.
● Manage the production and social media promotions of daily posts and short video stories to be made in
collaboration with field teams, interns, or freelancers.
● Manage our social media channels, Youtube, and website to ensure they are updated regularly and build an
active and engaged community around our Waste Warriors brand.
● Activate and engage underutilized media and PR channels including print, blogs & magazines, influencers &
celebrities, FM radio, TV channels, email newsletters, and more that you would know best.
What You Should Have:
● Excellent portfolio of digital media content, designs, and campaigns for a wide range of media.
● A degree or diploma is a plus, but your skills, experience, portfolio, & creativity are what counts for this role.
● Experience in multimedia campaign planning for multiple programs.
● Fluency in both English and Hindi is essential for our content and context.
● Access to your own laptop is absolutely necessary.
