Job Description
NES Fircroft is seeking a Communications Advisor for a 12-month contract in Perth, Western Australia, to enhance engagement and reputation for a Global Oil & Gas Operator. Key responsibilities include developing internal and external communication campaigns, managing social media, and ensuring high-quality collateral production. Candidates should have 3-5 years of corporate communications experience, strong digital media skills, and proficiency in tools like InDesign and Photoshop. We are currently recruiting a Communications Advisor for a Global Oil & Gas Operator in the Perth CBD, on a 12 month contract to develop and deliver effective communication tactics across internal and external audiences to enhance engagement, reputation and business goal achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of business-wide internal communication campaigns.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of external communications, via social media platforms.
• Support social media platform stewardship, daily media monitoring / reporting and monthly evaluation to inform future communications
Technical expertise:
• 3-5 years’ experience in corporate communications, with significant digital media stewardship and internal communications experience in a corporate role – ideally in the energy sector.
• Solid copywriting and verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
• Substantial skill in photography and video record management, along with skills in online and offline collateral development.
• Experience in preparing proactive and reactive internal communications to support issue management planned exercises, incident and crisis events.
• Brand management to support compliance across the business and with third-party companies.
• Well-developed time management skills and proven track record in successful planning and execution of communication campaigns within a large and changing company environment, while managing competing demands.
• Experience in developing communication collateral for internal and external audiences, across the full range of communication channels.
• Adept at providing tactical support and ensuring all communications are high standard, timely, consistent, up to date and approved.
• Experienced in managing confidential information.
Project Management:
• Process and manage day-to-day requests and workflow for collateral production, third-party requests and other projects assigned by the Communications Lead.
• Ability to develop concept and scripts for video products and supervise contractor editing and post-production work to finalize audiovisual products.
Teamwork:
• Work collaboratively with Corporate Affairs Perth and Darwin-based team members, and key internal departments (such as HR, IT and Operations) to reinforce values and business goals and support a positive work culture.
• Mentor and upskill communication champions and key internal partners to enhance internal copywriting and compliance with communication standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Tertiary qualifications in communications public relations, journalism or other relevant areas.
• 3-5 years’ experience in corporate communications, with significant digital media stewardship and internal communications experience in a corporate role – ideally in the energy sector.
• Proven track record in successful planning and execution of communication campaigns within a large and changing company environment.
• Indesign and Photoshop skills to edit and finalise collateral
