The Senior Building Construction Commissioning Specialist is responsible for leading and managing the commissioning process for complex building projects. This role involves ensuring that building systems are designed, installed, tested, and operating according to the owner's project requirements and design intent. The Senior Commissioning Specialist will utilize their expertise to oversee all phases of the commissioning process, from pre-design through occupancy, with a focus on delivering high-quality, functional, and sustainable buildings.

Responsibilities
Participating in the office marketing effort with the goal of bringing in work to maintain firm profitability
Lead, plan, coordinate, and manage the commissioning process for a variety of building projects, including new construction, renovations, and retrofits.
Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, including scope definition, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Review and analyze project documents, including owner's project requirements (OPR), basis of design (BOD), design drawings, and specifications, to ensure commissioning ability.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on building systems, including building enclosure, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
Develop and oversee the execution of pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and integrated systems testing.
Identify and document deficiencies, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement, and work with the project team to develop and implement corrective actions.
Manage and coordinate the activities of commissioning team members, subcontractors, and vendors.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers.
Prepare and present commissioning reports, documentation, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
Ensure that all commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with industry standards, codes, and best practices (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED).
Participate in training building operations and maintenance staff on system operations and maintenance.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior commissioning staff.
Contribute to the development and improvement of company commissioning processes and standards.
Stay up-to-date on the latest building technologies, commissioning trends, and industry developments.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in building construction commissioning, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects.
Professional certification as a Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Commissioning Authority (CxA), or equivalent is required.
Thorough knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and green building rating systems (e.g., LEED).
Proficiency in developing and implementing commissioning plans, test procedures, and reports.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using commissioning software and tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
