The Commissioning Associate position at Verdical Group is a remote job located within commuting distance of Los Angeles, CA. The role involves supporting the Commissioning Team on various projects focused on sustainability and environmental impact. WHO YOU ARE

- Someone entering the Commissioning field hoping to make a positive daily impact upon the world. The Commissioning Associate helps support our Commissioning Team.

- Knowledge of, and possibly some experience with, all aspects of Cx projects (LEED, CALGreen, Retro Cx).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 0-2 years of Cx, MEP design, or MEP construction management experience

- Knowledge of or training in: testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems—including but not limited to—cooling towers, chillers, packaged roof top units, DOAS, AHUs, VRF, VFDs, BMS for all commercial buildings types.

- Able to assist on all aspects of commissioning projects—with oversight.

- Located in the LA metro area, or willing to relocate for this position. Construction site visits are required for this role and most of our projects are in the SoCal market.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.

- Ability and willingness to travel (mostly in SoCal by car, but occasional site visits by plane).

- Physical ability to walk construction sites and partake in Cx activities on a construction site. Includes climbing ladders and carrying loads up to 50 pounds.

- Working understanding of relevant technical standards and industry groups: ASHRAE, CALGreen / Title 24, LEED, etc.

- Engaged and participatory in local industry organizations.

- Tasks will include, but are not limited to: reviewing drawings, developing Cx Plans, reviewing equipment installations (both new and existing buildings), assisting in the development prefunctional checklists, verifying system-level sequence of operations, support in creating FPT scripts, submittal review, MEP coordination oversight, preparing professional deliverable documents for client submission

- Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED)

- A commissioning credential

- Energy audit experience

- Energy modeling experience

- EIT
