Sugar Hollow Solar is seeking a Commercial Solar Sales Consultant in Asheville, NC. The role involves selling solar energy systems to commercial clients, understanding their energy needs, and providing tailored solutions. Responsibilities include managing the sales cycle, creating proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction during project implementation. Based out of Asheville, NC, Sugar Hollow Solar offers energy solutions for homes, farms, small businesses and other commercial properties by designing and installing solar electric systems (rooftop or ground-mounted), battery backup systems and EV charger stations, as well as, systems maintenance.

Sugar Hollow Solar has an opening for a Commercial Solar Sales expert! The Commercial Solar Sales position at Sugar Hollow Solar is responsible for selling solar energy systems to our commercial clients. Their role involves identifying potential clients, understanding their energy needs and providing solutions tailored to their business's energy goals. The representative will typically work with businesses to help them reduce their energy costs, improve sustainability and comply with energy regulations. They also handle all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals and collaborates with installation and other teams to ensure projects meet client expectations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Understand client energy needs and deliver customized solar solutions by analyzing energy usage, providing cost-benefit analysis and explaining the benefits of commercial solar installations
• Present and explain the financial, environmental and operational makers in clear and compelling manner
• Create detailed proposals, pricing estimates and contracts that align with client objectives, including financing options such as loans, leases or power purchase agreements
• Lead negotiations with clients to secure contracts, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction. Close deals while managing customer expectations and overcoming objections
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and secure repeat business. Follow up post-sale to ensure installation is on track and meet customer expectations
• Ensure smooth transition from sales to project implementation by coordinating with internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction during installation and managing customer expectation throughout the process
• Work closely with and collaborate with internal teams (i.e. design, installation and finance,) to ensure project specifications, timelines and customer requirements are met.
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales and the commercial sales team to align the commercial sales strategy, business development and planning
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through research, networking, referrals and industry events and collaborate with marketing to further implement and update a cohesive strategy for lead generation and creating the necessary sales materials
• Maintaining accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, customer interactions and pipeline progress using CRM tools. Provide regular updates to management on sales performance and forecasts
• Keep informed about industry trends, local regulations and competitor activity. Use market insights to adjust sales strategies and maximize business growth

Qualifications
• 3+ years of sales experience preferably in renewable energy, commercial real estate or a similar technical field required. Experience in the solar industry is a significant advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering Environmental Science or related field is preferred
• Willingness to travel as required to meet with potential clients, attend industry events and support projects in the field
• Demonstrated experience utilizing CRM tools and Project Management tools in a sales capacity required
• Demonstrated experience with solar design and financial modeling tools is a plus

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Exceptional consultative sales capabilities
• Strong understanding of solar energy systems, including components like solar panels, inverters, battery storage and associated energy systems
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and persuasive manner to non-technical stakeholders
• Exceptional customer relationship skills with strong customer centric service orientation
• Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and closing high-value sales deals
• Self-motivation and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Solid financial acumen with an in-depth knowledge of financial modeling
• Renewable energy industry knowledge
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
• CRM, sales software and financial software skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Adaptable
