Role: Commercial Project Engineer

We're currently growing our commercial team, which specializes in Solar, ESS, EVSE, and Energy Efficiency projects.

Position Overview: The Project Engineer is the technical expert providing support to the EPC team and overseeing all aspects of project design. With a focus on Commercial Solar, Energy Storage, and EV Charging installations, the Project Engineer is responsible for driving projects from contract to construction by delivering code-compliant drawing packages that meet budget and stakeholder needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead all stages of commercial project design

- Implement external resources such as structural, civil, and electrical engineering consultants

- Work directly with AHJ’s, Utility personnel, and system owners to coordinate permitting needs

- Assist in the development of energy production models, bill of materials, budgets, scope of work

- Provide technical training for team members and new employees

- Work with a team to forecast pipeline of work through design process

- Travel to project sites for site-specific data collection

- Assist Sales and Development as needed

- Troubleshoot Service needs and concerns from commercial customers

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering

- 2 years of hands-on experience designing commercial solar PV systems with AutoCAD

- Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code

- Willingness to travel, potentially up to 10% of the time

- Exceptional communication skills, able to bridge gaps between construction, technical, and non-technical stakeholders

- Adeptness at navigating a fast-paced, dynamic environment and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

- EIT Certification with path towards PE licensure

- Proficiency in the use of Salesforce, Procore, and other project/construction related software

- Experience developing and designing Energy Storage Systems and EV Charging Systems

- NABCEP Certified

Work-Type: In-office, remote, or hybrid.

Salary: $100,000-$150,000 based on experience
