Job Description

The University of Delaware seeks a Climate Video Game Coordinator for Spring 2025, starting March 15th, to support research on video games' impact on climate change perceptions. Responsibilities include coordinating Global Climate Games Day and assisting with research and experiment design. The position is open to undergraduate students at UD, offering 6-10 hours of work per week at $15/hour. No game design experience is required.

Estimated Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule: 6-10 hours. Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm

Named for the 46th president of the United States, the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware prepares students with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to engage in research and public service activities to improve the quality of life in communities around the world.

Role Description:
Join a collaborative project with faculty across UD to study how video games affect player perceptions and policy preferences for climate change.

The student will coordinate an event for global Climate Games Day (April 11th), support background research on video games and behavioral change, and work with faculty to design an experiment. The coordinator will learn about social impact games, game design, and experimental research. No experience in game design required, but students should be interested in games for social impact and in learning about how research is conducted.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Coordinate an event for Global Climate Games Day (April 11th)
• Support background research on video games and behavioral change
• Work with Faculty to design an experiment.

Qualifications:
• UD Undergraduate student interested in games for social impact.
• No in game design experience required.
