Job Description
Bracknell Forest Council is hiring a Climate Strategy and Projects Officer to help achieve a net-zero carbon borough. The role involves collaborating with partners on climate projects and funding opportunities. Candidates should be organized, communicative, and passionate about climate change, with some relevant knowledge preferred. We are looking to recruit a Climate Strategy and Projects Officer to join our team and help drive Bracknell Forest toward becoming a net-zero carbon borough.

About you
We are looking for a confident and reliable person who can understand, interpret, present and communicate data and/or information for the benefit of others. You will be working with a wide range of partners to look for suitable climate change projects and/or funding opportunities that will make a difference to both the council and the borough. You will be motivated, well organised, have great communication skills and have a real passion in climate change. Some prior knowledge of climate change projects would be beneficial.
About the team
We are a small, dedicated team working together to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the borough. Our primary focus is identifying and reporting on projects to help lower our carbon footprint whilst communicating the great work we are doing. We work closely with our partners to support efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change and to access and secure grant funding.
Key responsibilities
• Contribute to the implementation of the climate change strategy by supporting the delivery of relevant projects and actions.
• Embed the aims and principles of the climate change strategy into the work of teams across the council.
• Support monitoring of progress against the climate change strategy and report on achievements.
We will support you with any relevant training and personal development necessary for your role.
