Job Description
Tiree is seeking a Climate Specialist in Ohio to provide analysis and strategic planning for corporate real estate projects. Responsibilities include developing climate mitigation strategies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and engaging stakeholders. Climate Specialist, Real Estate As a Climate Specialist, you will be a crucial asset in providing analysis, guidance, and strategic planning support for complex corporate real estate projects. Your expertise in climate risk assessment, vulnerability analysis, and climate adaptation will contribute to shaping sustainable and resilient real estate strategies for our clients.
What you'll do:
Sustainability, Net-Zero, and Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies:
Develop and implement innovative climate mitigation strategies for real property and buildings, reducing carbon footprint and resource consumption.
Sustainable Design and Construction Advisement:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the design and construction phases of building projects.
Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments:
Conduct comprehensive climate risk assessments for real property portfolios, assets, and services, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending adaptive strategies and roadmaps to resilient portfolios.
Regulatory and Policy Compliance and Best Practice Implementation:
Stay abreast of environmental regulations and industry standards, as well as industry best practices, ensuring that real property and building strategies align with and potentially exceed compliance requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement and Climate Awareness Services:
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, to promote awareness and commitment to climate-friendly practices within client real estate portfolios and organizations.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data-driven insights to measure and report on the environmental performance of asset portfolios, demonstrating progress towards sustainability goals.
What You Bring:
A passion for environmental sustainability and a commitment to integrating climate considerations into corporate real estate planning.
Proven experience in providing climate-related guidance for strategic projects.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate actionable insights from complex data.
Collaborative mindset, capable of working closely with clients and cross-functional teams.
University degree or college diploma in a relevant knowledge of the processes involved in developing real property strategies, analyses, business cases, options analyses, and risk management plans.
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret clearance.
Experience providing climate advice to/within both public and private entities would be considered an asset.
Experience in consulting as behalf of a private sector professional consulting firm would be considered an asset.
