3Degrees is seeking a Climate Solutions Strategy Consultant to help organizations transition to a low-carbon economy. The role involves client engagement, data analysis, and project coordination. Candidates should have 2-4 years of consulting experience and a background in sustainability or climate science. Although the position is based in San Francisco, flexible hybrid work is supported, and exceptional remote candidates from select states may apply.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Climate Solutions Strategy Consultant, you will be integral in guiding organizations toward a low-carbon economy. Work alongside seasoned professionals to conduct research, analyze data, and craft innovative strategies to tackle climate challenges.
This role is full-time and reports to the Senior Climate Strategy Consultant or Manager. While we value teamwork and in-person connections, we also support a flexible, hybrid work style. We prefer candidates to join us voluntarily in our San Francisco Bay Area office but also consider candidates for our office hubs in Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY. Exceptional remote candidates from select states may also apply. We do not provide relocation assistance or sponsorship for this position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Client Engagement: Support consulting projects focused on decarbonization, renewable energy, and climate solutions, actively participating in client meetings. Data Analysis: Conduct research and develop financial and carbon emissions models. Research and Synthesis: Independently research and summarize topics, providing actionable insights and solutions. Deliverables: Create and present client materials, including presentations, memos, and analytical tools. Project Coordination: Contribute to project teams, ensuring timely delivery of all project elements. Process Improvement: Implement quality control and contribute to knowledge management initiatives. KPI Tracking: Monitor your work performance against project plans, maintaining communication with the Manager. ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a motivated candidate with 2-4 years of consulting experience, a solid foundation in sustainability or climate science, and strong analytical and communication skills. A passion for sustainable solutions and collaboration is key, along with:
A minimum of 2 years in consulting or corporate sustainability. Familiarity with greenhouse gas measurement, renewable energy, carbon markets, and corporate sustainability. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and visualization. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or Economics is preferred; a Master's Degree is a plus. HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS
Within the First 30 Days
Understand 3Degrees' business, climate solutions, and strategic priorities. Familiarize yourself with team structure, systems, and tools. Build relationships with key internal stakeholders. Complete onboarding and training programs successfully. Within the First 90 Days
Contribute effectively to client projects on decarbonization, renewable energy, and climate solutions. Conduct independent research and present findings. Develop client-facing materials. Proficiently analyze and visualize data using Excel and PowerPoint. Within the First 6 Months
Co-present deliverables to clients and manage assigned projects. Ensure timely and budget-compliant client deliverables. Contribute to process improvements and knowledge management. Demonstrate a solid understanding of climate-related topics like GHG measurement and carbon markets. Within the First Year
Serve as a trusted advisor for clients on climate strategies. Manage complex projects effectively. Innovate solutions that drive positive climate impact. Develop expertise in specific areas of climate solutions. Contribute to the creation of new services or methodologies based on client needs. Engage in developing marketing materials to strengthen 3Degrees’ thought leadership. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting base pay for this role is $94,000.00 - $108,000.00, with total compensation potentially exceeding base pay through incentives. Base pay may vary based on factors like location and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, flexible paid time off, and more.
