Job Summary

We are seeking a Climate Resiliency Engineer/Designer to join our growing team in Massachusetts and Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead and mentor project teams.

The Climate Resiliency Engineer/Designer will assist with the implementation of adaptation and resiliency strategies for climate-related hazards, including coastal and inland flooding, sea level rise, and extreme heat. This may involve deployable and permanent flood barriers, structure floodproofing, urban infrastructure retrofits, and other nature-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor project teams on climate resilience projects
• Develop and implement adaptation and resiliency strategies for climate-related hazards
• Collaborate with staff from different disciplines and technical backgrounds
• Work effectively within a team environment to achieve project goals

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or environmental engineering, coastal or structural engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, and/or urban design and climate resilience
• Prior experience working on flood mitigation design projects, including projects incorporating Base and Design Flood Elevations that factor future sea level rise and storm surge impacts
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS (ESRI ArcPro or ArcMap), and Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience utilizing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs, including PCSWMM or EPA SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, and/or HEC-RAS
• Experience designing coastal/marine structures, determining and incorporating static and dynamic flood and wave loadings
• Experience with hazard mitigation planning, FEMA NFIP Community Rating System, and emergency operations planning
