About the position
The Climate Resilience Specialists will play a crucial role in assisting local communities with federal grants aimed at mitigating the impacts of climate change. This full-time position is dedicated to a five-year project and requires candidates to engage with communities, ensuring effective communication and capacity-building strategies to enhance climate resilience.
Responsibilities
• Assist local communities in applying for and managing federal grants related to climate change mitigation.
,
• Engage with community members to assess needs and build capacity for climate resilience initiatives.
,
• Communicate risks associated with climate change and deliver training sessions at community locations.
,
• Work across different levels of government to facilitate climate adaptation and resilience efforts.
,
• Gather, process, interpret, and communicate scientific data relevant to climate resilience.
Requirements
• Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in climate adaptation and resilience, or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience.

• Experience working in climate adaptation and resilience, particularly with underserved communities.
,
• Strong understanding of challenges faced by Tribal, rural, and economically disadvantaged communities.
,
• Experience in hazard mitigation, agriculture, emergency planning, affordable housing, nature-based solutions, land conservation, resilient transportation, or coastal management.
,
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with statistical, geospatial, and presentation software for data analysis and visualization.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
