Job Description

The Climate Resilience Specialist at RTI International will support local communities in securing and managing federal grants for climate change mitigation. This full-time role involves engaging with various stakeholders, assessing community needs, delivering training, and analyzing scientific data. About the position

The Climate Resilience Specialist role at RTI International involves assisting local communities in applying for and managing federal grants aimed at mitigating the impacts of climate change. This full-time position is part of a five-year project within the Geospatial Science and Technology program, requiring candidates to engage with various communities and stakeholders across multiple locations in the United States.

Responsibilities
• Assist local communities in applying for federal grants related to climate resilience.
,
• Engage with community members and stakeholders to assess needs and build capacity.
,
• Communicate risks associated with climate change and deliver training sessions.
,
• Gather, process, and interpret scientific data relevant to climate adaptation and resilience.
,
• Work independently and collaboratively across different levels of government.

Requirements
• Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in climate adaptation and resilience, or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience.

• Experience in climate adaptation and resilience practices.
,
• Understanding of challenges faced by underserved communities, including Tribal and rural populations.
,
• Experience in hazard mitigation, agriculture, emergency planning, affordable housing, nature-based solutions, land conservation, resilient transportation, or coastal management.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with statistical, geospatial, and presentation software for data analysis and visualization.
