The Climate Investments Intern at Allstate will support the Climate Investment Team in researching and analyzing investments aimed at decarbonization and natural capital. Responsibilities include assisting in the investment process, monitoring the portfolio, and collaborating with team members. About the position

The Climate Investment Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Climate Investment Team at Allstate, which focuses on investments aimed at decarbonization and natural capital. This team targets investments in various sectors including AgTech, alternative energy, carbon capture, utilization and storage, carbon markets, circular economy, energy efficiency, sustainable materials, and sustainable energy. Additionally, the team invests in natural capital assets such as farmland, timberland, and water resources. The overarching goal of these investments is to mitigate global carbon emissions and enhance societal resilience in the face of climate change. The intern will assist in multiple phases of the investment process, including researching key components of the industries and technologies targeted for investment. This role is integral to Allstate's long-term strategy of expanding its impact investment portfolio, which aims to include higher-yielding and stable investment products. The Climate Investment Team manages a portfolio exceeding $1 billion and aims to produce between $100 million to $200 million in investments annually, with individual investments ranging from $25 million to $50 million. As part of the internship, the intern will collaborate with team members to analyze potential investments and monitor the existing portfolio. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of climate investments and contribute to meaningful projects that align with Allstate's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• Currently a Junior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with expected graduation in Winter 24' or Spring 25'.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Understanding of financial business acumen and project management skills.

• Coursework in agriculture, forestry, energy, environmental studies, sustainability, water, economics, and/or finance is preferred.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience or coursework related to climate change and sustainability initiatives.

• Familiarity with investment analysis and portfolio management.

Benefits
• Compensation offered between $23 and $32 an hour based on experience and qualifications.
