Job Description
Ampact is seeking a Climate Impact Project Coordinator to advance local environmental solutions and combat climate change. This role involves planning and leading community projects, such as tree planting and solar assessments, while serving at a nonprofit or public agency. Candidates should be dependable and proficient in Microsoft Office. The position offers training, a stipend, and various federal benefits. It is based in Wabasha, MN, and not a remote position.

As a Project Coordinator, youll serve at a nonprofit organization or public agency that has a mission to preserve and protect our environment. During your service, youll plan and lead projects that help communities mitigate and adapt to climate change. Youll play a vital role in increasing the reach and effectiveness of site services and addressing community needs.

How Youll Take Action
• Receive training, professional development, and ongoing support from staff
• Facilitate outreach and education by sharing your experience
• Support projects such as:
• Planting and inventorying trees
• Designing and managing nursery gravel beds
• Conducting virtual and on-site solar opportunity assessments
• Installing energy-saving materials
• Organizing sustainability projects

It Starts with a Passion
Our members come from all walks of life. Anyone can become a Project Coordinator as long as they have a passion to make a difference and meet the following minimum qualifications.
By the time they begin their service, our members are:
• Dependable and have a history of good attendance
• Able to understand and follow instructions
• Able to set a pace and maintain a service schedule, depending on the agreed upon hours commitment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication (with attachments), databases and software use, and videoconferencing
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States*
• Able to successfully complete a background check
• Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve in our programs at this time. DACA applicants may be eligible for Americorps VISTA programs. For more information, click here.
Perks Package:
While youre making a difference, youll receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks and additional perks! As an AmeriCorps program we have both federally provided benefits and program specific benefits.
Federal Benefits include:
• Up to $7395.00 in Education Award
• Segal AmeriCorps Education Award* which can be used to pay tuition or repay qualified student loans. Individuals 55+ at the start of their service term may gift their award to a family member. Click Here for more information.
• Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment.
• Time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Program Specific Benefits by hours commitment per week
40 Hours
• $1100 stipend paid every two weeks.
• Individual health insurance monthly premium 100% covered.
• Child care assistance based on family size and income.
25 Hours
• $650 stipend paid every two weeks.
