Job Description

The Global Green Growth Institute is hiring a Climate Finance Specialist in Xico, Veracruz, Mexico. The role involves supporting climate finance projects, developing compliance policies, and conducting ESG assessments. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in the Mexican public administration, particularly in climate or sustainable finance. The position is full-time and requires collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Finance Specialist to join our team at the Global Green Growth Institute. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in climate finance, sustainable banking initiatives, and ESG reporting frameworks.

The successful candidate will support projects implementation on climate finance driven by GGGI Mexico, in alignment with GGGI Mexico's Country Programme Framework. This includes developing sustainable/climate/fiduciary-compliance policies, procedures, handbooks, tools, and instruments for greening the financial sector.

The role requires close collaboration and liaison with other GGGI-Mexico team members for technical consultation and inputs to align efforts and workstreams from national to sub-national level. Additionally, the candidate will develop material and deliver capacity building workshops for public officials and private sector actors.
• Develop fiduciary/compliance-related policies, manuals, technical documents, procedures, tools, and instruments among stakeholders for addressing Mexico's gaps to effectively mobilize climate finance, especially as part of the GCF Readiness.
• Conduct ESG technical, institutional, and regulatory assessments and deliver innovative policy solutions, tools, and other technical documents for CNBV and National Development Banks in articulation with subnational needs.
• Develop reports on the results of program activities in climate finance workstream.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Economy, Finance, International Business, International Relations, Law, Environmental/Sustainable Engineering or other related fields, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in the Mexican Public Administration, preferably in the environmental and/or financial sector and in the field of climate/sustainable finance.
