Job Description

The Global Green Growth Institute is hiring a Climate Finance Policy Advisor in Xico, Veracruz, Mexico. The role involves developing sustainable finance policies, collaborating with team members, and conducting capacity-building workshops. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree, preferably a master's, and at least 5 years of experience in the Mexican public administration, particularly in environmental or financial sectors. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Climate Finance Policy Advisor to join our team in Mexico. In this role, you will support the implementation of climate finance projects driven by GGGI Mexico, aligning with the Country Programme Framework.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop sustainable and green compliance policies, procedures, handbooks, tools, and instruments for greening the financial sector.
• Closely collaborate and liaise with other GGGI-Mexico team members for technical consultation and inputs to align efforts and workstreams from national to sub-national level.
• Develop materials and deliver capacity-building workshops for public officials and private sector actors.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Economy, Finance, International Business, International Relations, Law, Environmental/Sustainable Engineering or related fields.
• Master's or advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Environmental Economics, or relevant field is a plus.
• 5 years of relevant working experience in the Mexican Public Administration, preferably in the environmental and/or financial sector and in the field of climate/sustainable finance.
• Experience and familiarity with sustainable banking initiatives (PRI), ESG reporting frameworks, climate-related risk, and SDGs is required.
Skills and Qualifications
• Exceptional planning and strategical skills oriented towards the effective and timely delivery of agreed outputs.
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills; capacity for synthesis, presentation, and communication.
• Able to communicate information and ideas clearly and articulately both in oral and written form.
• Promote an organizational culture of trust, transparency, respect, and partnership.
