Climate Data Analyst Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Climate Data Analyst. As a key member of our analysis department, you will play a vital role in leading research and data-driven decision-making.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and applying technical workflows for analyzing environmental data, including downscaled climate model output. This will involve creating climate projections for various weather phenomena and assessing current and future exposures.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• Developing and applying technical workflows for analyzing environmental data.
• Leading research on appropriate climate stressor thresholds for climate impact assessments.
• Examining environmental data for best-use purposes and applications.
• Supporting quantitative analysis of exposure, vulnerability, risks, and resilience associated with long-term climate change considerations.
• Preparing documentation that succinctly summarizes methodologies and results for technical and lay audiences.
• Participating on multiple projects and leading selected technical project tasks.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A strong background in meteorology, atmospheric science, climate science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including the analysis of downscaled climate model output and other environmental data.
• Advanced understanding of the physical processes causing climate change, global climate models, climate scenarios, and different climate model downscaling methodologies and datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
