The role involves integrating satellite data, developing methodologies for atmospheric modeling, and collaborating with research teams on climate monitoring. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a related field, experience in satellite remote sensing, and strong programming skills. This is a full-time position focused on advancing climate research and data products.
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Data Analyst to join our team at Science & Technology Corp.

The successful candidate will have expertise in satellite data integration, atmospheric modeling, and data assimilation techniques.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge climate research and develop new data products that enhance the understanding of climate variability, weather patterns, and atmospheric processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and integrate datasets using GNSS Radio Occultation, satellite-based infrared, and microwave data.
• Design and implement methodologies for fusing GNSS RO data with IR and MW satellite data to improve vertical profiles of atmospheric temperature, moisture, and pressure.
• Collaborate with research teams to process and validate satellite data products for climate monitoring and weather forecasting models.
• Develop algorithms for the assimilation of RO, IR, and MW data into global climate models and atmospheric reanalysis products.
• Contribute to the improvement of data assimilation techniques, with a focus on leveraging the unique characteristics of GNSS RO data in combination with infrared and microwave remote sensing.
• Collaborate with scientists and operational teams to ensure that RO and satellite data are effectively integrated into ongoing climate research and operational models.
• Conduct original research in the field of GNSS RO and satellite remote sensing, contributing to peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences.
• Assist in the development of new data products and tools that enhance the understanding of climate variability, weather patterns, and atmospheric processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Climate Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field with a focus on satellite data and atmospheric modeling.
• Experience in interdisciplinary research environments, particularly involving satellite remote sensing, atmospheric data assimilation, or Earth system science.
• Extensive experience in processing and analyzing GNSS Radio Occultation (RO) data and/or satellite-based infrared and microwave remote sensing data.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Fortran, C++) and experience with climate or weather models, such as the Unified Forecast System (UFS), WRF, or similar.
• A deep understanding of data assimilation techniques and the physics of GNSS RO, infrared, and microwave remote sensing.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
