Job Description

The Climate Change Research Specialist at beBee Careers in Moscow, ID, will collaborate on research initiatives within the Institute for Innovative Climate Solutions. The role focuses on integrating various biological scales to address climate change. Responsibilities include scientific analysis, project management, and preparing publications. Candidates should have three years of research experience and a doctoral degree in Ecology or equivalent experience.
Research Scientist I Role

We are seeking an independent researcher to collaborate on multi-scholar research initiatives within the Institute for Innovative Climate Solutions (IICS) and with external collaborators. The Research Scientist I will serve as a key team member, working under the general direction of a principal investigator and managing an independent research portfolio.

The primary focus of this role is on integrating molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecosystem scales of biology with specific interest in ecosystem response to climate change. Our researchers span the physical, life, and social sciences and work towards climate change mitigation by integrating across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform complex scientific analyses and adjust experimental designs as necessary based on experimental data analysis.
• Direct the development of recommendations for project solutions and perform peer review of scientific projects, studies, or applications.
• Prepare peer-reviewed publications or presentations and resolve complex project-specific technical and regulatory issues.
• Establish work priorities and performance standards, hiring, training, evaluating staff, assigning, and reviewing work.
• May be responsible for technical project management to include developing the scope of work, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, implementing field projects, and approving scientific documents.

Requirements
• Three years of research experience related to the domain of this position.
• Doctoral degree in Ecology; A Master's Degree plus an additional two years of research experience may be substituted for a Ph.D.
