Morrison Hershfield is seeking a Climate Change Consultant to provide technical leadership in climate risk assessment and adaptation planning. Responsibilities include analyzing climate data, leading consultation programs, developing policies, and managing projects for diverse clients. Job Title: Environmental Planner III
Job Summary:

This role involves providing technical leadership in climate risk assessment and climate change planning, policy, and capacity-building services. You will be responsible for analyzing climate data, delivering climate change risk assessments, leading consultation programs, developing policies and strategies, and preparing project reports and presentations.
• Exercise leadership and initiative in support of the growth of our Climate Change Practice.
• Serve as a Project Manager and/or Technical Lead on climate change risk assessment and adaptation planning projects for a range of public and private-sector clients.
• Support buildings, transportation, and other infrastructure planning/design and environmental assessment projects, including coordinating climate mitigation, risk, and resilience assessment processes.
• Develop and implement stakeholder consultation and capacity-building programs (on-line/in-person).
• Play a lead role in proposal preparation and business development.
• Apply expertise on nature-based solutions to climate change challenges.
• Prepare and review technical analyses, reports, and presentations.
• Apply principles of sustainability and related tools/frameworks (e.g., SDGs, ENVISION) to planning and design projects and other studies.
• Support incorporation of climate change services in projects across the firm and contribute to the company's Climate Change Community of Practice.
Qualifications:
• Relevant degree(s) in Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Planning, and/or Geography. Master's Degree preferred. Related professional designation(s) (P.Eng., RPP) desirable.
• Demonstrated experience delivering climate risk assessments and resilience projects, with working knowledge of industry standards and practices (e.g., ISO 14091, PIEVC Protocol). Experience working with governments, infrastructure/real property, energy, and/or watershed studies would be an asset.
• Demonstrated experience developing policies, strategies, and guidance documents pertaining to climate risk assessment and adaptation.
• Demonstrated experience with project management, including quality control, client management, team leadership, and administrative responsibilities.
• Experience with Climate Change Mitigation and/or nature-based solutions an asset.
• Experience with Sustainability and ESG analysis/frameworks an asset.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills (English).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications + Graphic Design/CAD tools a plus.
• Bilingualism (English/French) an asset.
