Overview:

As part of the growing Climate Change Planning Team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in climate risk assessment and climate change planning, policy, and capacity-building services. This is an exciting opportunity to incorporate climate leadership into a variety of engineering, environmental and planning projects across North America.

You will be required to analyze climate data, deliver climate change risk assessments, lead consultation programs, develop policies and strategies, and prepare project reports and presentations. You will be expected to coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams on a diverse range of assignments. You will also have an opportunity to lead business development initiatives including proposals and presentations. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities include:
• Exercise leadership and initiative in support of the growth of MH’s Climate Change Practice.
• Serve as a Project Manager and/or Technical Lead on climate change risk assessment and adaptation planning projects for a range of public and private-sector clients.
• Support buildings, transportation and other infrastructure planning / design and environmental assessment projects, including coordinating climate mitigation, risk and resilience assessment processes.
• Develop and implement stakeholder consultation and capacity-building programs (on-line/in-person).
• Play a lead role in proposal preparation and business development.
• Apply expertise on nature-based solutions to climate change challenges.
• Prepare and review technical analyses, reports and presentations.
• Apply principles of sustainability and related tools / frameworks (e.g., SDGs, ENVISION) to planning and design projects and other studies.
• Support incorporation of climate change services in projects across the firm and contribute to the company’s Climate Change Community of Practice.

Qualifications:
• Relevant degree(s) in Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Planning and/or Geography. Master’s Degree preferred. Related professional designation(s) (P.Eng., RPP) desirable.
• Demonstrated experience delivering climate risk assessments and resilience projects, with working knowledge of industry standards and practices (e.g., ISO 14091, PIEVC Protocol). Experience working with governments, infrastructure/real property, energy, and/or watershed studies would be an asset.
• Demonstrated experience developing policies, strategies and guidance documents pertaining to climate risk assessment and adaptation.
• Demonstrated experience with project management including quality control, client management, team leadership, administrative responsibilities.
