Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Climate Adaptation Advisor. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and implementing strategies for climate adaptation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• You will advise on wildfire mitigation, customer resilience, and climate adaptation project activities, working closely with project managers, management, and leadership.
• You will initiate relevant communications, plan development, contract revisions, and project status updates.
• You will independently exercise critical decision-making regarding project activities with significant company impact and climate change risk execution responsibilities.
• You will coordinate requirement gathering, invoice processing, dispute resolution, and project/initiative governance responsibilities.
• You will act as a subject matter expert in climate change adaptation, presenting at internal and external meetings, including after-hours events.
• You will participate in staffing outreach events, support seminars, education, and training as needed, serving as a liaison between the sustainability team to ensure broader organizational alignment.
• You will respond to and support after-hours incident response activities in person or remotely, maintaining an active status as an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) responder for incidents involving adverse weather conditions or wildfires.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's Degree in Climate Adaptation, Atmospheric Sciences, Project Management, Business, Communications, or equivalent experience is required.
• A Master's Degree in Climate Adaptation, Atmospheric Sciences, Project Management, Business, or related fields is preferred.
• At least 3 years of related experience in climate analysis, atmospheric sciences, project management, energy management, business management, or program-specific work is required.
• Formal education or equivalent work experience in project coordination is required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, proactive flexibility, and attention to detail in collaborating with others, dealing with issues, and prioritizing workload are required.
• Competency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint is required.
• Familiarity with project management and coordination principles, procedures, and concepts is preferred.
